2. Cybersecurity news you missed: AnyDesk Compromised

​AnyDesk Compromised, Passwords Revoked​

Quick summary:

AnyDesk, a remote desktop application offering access, file transfer, and VPN functionality, reported a breach of its production systems. The company plans to revoke security certificates and reset web portal passwords as a precaution. While no end user devices were compromised, AnyDesk is working with law enforcement and has found no evidence of ransomware. The company advises password updates and reassures customers that the situation is under control, urging the use of the latest software version with a new code signing certificate. This incident highlights the importance of securing remote access management tools like AnyDesk, which are often targeted by cybercriminals, as warned by cybersecurity agencies.

OpenSSH is a tool used for secure remote login, encrypting traffic to prevent attacks. t includes ssh, scp, and sftp for remote operations, along with key management tools.
